Signs Of Premature Menopause

We should all recognise that age is not a number, and that turning 40 does not signal an onslaught of health-riddling diseases and disabilities. In today’s world, many women are healthier than they have ever been as they approach middle age. However, some women will discover that they are suffering with early menopause symptoms, but once again they should not be disillusioned because there is more knowledge and information out there in relation to the menopause than has been available before.

Early menopause or premature menopause only occurs in a very slight number of women. Some women will not be aware that they are in fact going through a premature menopause, they may believe that they hare suffering from stress, a period of heavy, severe periods or just irritability and lack of sleep due to external pressures be that work or other issues. The early menopause symptoms are hard to distinguish from some other symptoms as already mentioned, however, if you feel that you may be undergoing an early menopause it is best to have some tests carried out by your General Practitioner.

It is worth noting that for women, the physical effects of an ageing reproductive system, or one that no longer functions as it should do from an earlier age, can present some special health risks. Oestrogen provides women with a natural protection against certain diseases, such as osteoporosis, heart disease and a decrease or lack of vaginal secretions. During an early or premature menopause, because a woman’s body produces less oestrogen, she becomes more vulnerable and prone to these and other health risks. It is unfortunate that many physical symptoms, which may be attributed to the first pangs of ageing, might actually be the first signs of serious health problems in the making.

Early menopause or premature menopause can be something which can be thought of as a very bad thing, or it can be treated in a positive way. By saying to yourself, if you have gone through a premature menopause, that it is done now and I can get on with the rest of my life you will find that this positive attitude will help you to prevail through the worst parts of the experience.
